Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania
May 2007
Jeep safari in the Ngorongoro Crater, during mating season no less.
The Ngorongoro Crater is actually not a crater, but a collapsed volcano, so named after the sound of cow bells from cattle grazing the area. On our morning drive, our ears were greeted not by bird chirps, but by hippo yawns, farts, belches and matting noises. I wanted to shoot a particular herd of animals, dressed in Nike t-shirts, under the age of 12, and from a rich oil country. Spoiled brats made loads of noise, argh. By now, I had not showered in 4 days. I was filthy. But quite happy.
